A runtime for coordinating model calls, transforms, and any other computation through one append-only log. The nine pieces (Producer, Event, Bus, View, Predicate, Trigger, Route, TerminationPolicy, run record) compose into topologies where code review agents cancel losers mid-run, writers and checkers stream at the same time, debate runs converge on a condition, and recursive subtask trees grow from a single trigger. Every event, every runtime decision, and every coordination choice lands on the log. Replay it at any point. Ship topologies: code review, debate, adversarial pair, coding flow, planner-solver, simulation, tool loop, retry pipeline. Python 3.12+, on PyPI as substrate-kernel.

A transformer predicts the next fifteen-minute return of SPY. It reads eight years of fifteen-minute bars (2015 through 2022) across twenty parallel time series: SPY, other stocks, currencies, macro releases, options data, calendar events. For each bar it outputs a probability distribution over thirty-two quantile buckets. The model beats a linear baseline on log-loss (3.180 vs 3.333 across five seeds). The gain does not appear in the mean. The probability of a positive return comes out to 0.4973: a coin flip. The transformer has narrowed its bet on which bucket the return lands in without moving its bet on the direction. Apache 2.0.
